20 REALLY GOOD EXCUSES NOT TO WORK-OUT!

Most people know they should be making working out as part of their priority, but unfortunately most people are also really good at making excuses not to work out.

But while it’s easy to come up with really good excuses not to work out, those excuses are never going to help you reach your fitness goals EVER!

So here are 20 excuses not to work out—and how to bust through them every time:

1. You don’t have time.

If you still think you need hours and hours in the gym to get in a good workout, you are kidding yourself. The beauty of our classes means you can get a crazy effective workout in as little as 45 minutes. I don’t care how busy you are, you have an extra 45 minutes to get a work out in. Get it done!

2. You don’t have access to (or can’t afford) training.

This is a classic line I seem to hear all the time. It is simply all about prioritising your life and what you want to achieve. If you can afford another pair of jeans, or packet of fags, or pint of beer or glass of wine several times a week, or go out for a meal, or buy online shopping, or order a takeaway etc etc then you might need to take a step back and think what do you really WANT?!

So don’t let the lack of a gym be your excuse and let your health be effected.

3. You are too stressed.

Did you know that working out can actually help you feel less stressed out? It’s true.

Since exercise subjects your body to a low level form of stress, working out consistently can help your body build up an immunity to all of life’s stressors.

Not only that, there’s pretty much no better way to get rid of stress than to kick ass at a really good workout!

4. You’re not athletic.

I don’t care if you were always picked last in junior high P.E., if you can’t throw a punch to save your life or if jump roping still makes you fall flat on your face once in a while.

In Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman’s words: I don’t care how many times you have tried before, if you stick with it, and you are consistent with your workouts, you will get in shape.

It is really that simple.

5. You work alot.

All the more reason you need to take an hour each day and exercise.

Not only will it help combat the negative effects of sitting all day dealing with stress, but it also helps clear your mind, make you more creative and help you feel less stressed, it also keep you healthy enough in the long-term so you can keep doing all that important work you are passionate about.

Can’t seem to find the time? Fit in an early morning private workout session,  schedule it in at lunch if you have to. If there is a will, there is a way. JUST DO IT!

6. You ARE a parent.

If you have kids, you need to make sure your workouts are also your priority. Not only do you need to take care of yourself by having an hour to yourself everyday, you also owe it to them to keep yourself healthy into old age to see your grandchildren TOO!

Plus, don’t you want to set a good example for your kids so they can grow up knowing the importance of staying active?

And if you still think having kids means you don’t have time, go back to point #1, and manage your TIME.

7. You don’t have/can’t afford home equipment.

Again read section 2 and prioritise yourself.

8. You travel a lot.

We have this amazing technology in this century where you can now train with us online. We have the world at the end of our fingertips and yet we still make excuses!

9. It is just too hard.

Working hard is the only way you are ever going to get the results you want. But remember, you just have to work as hard as you personally can—don’t compare yourself to others.

If you need to take breaks, or shorten the number of rounds, do it. Just don’t skip it all together.

Unfortunately, like the rest of us who have earned a good shape bodies comes with dedication, persistence, patience and determination will say the exactly the same thing to you…. DO NOT GIVE UP WHEN IT GETS TOUGH!

10. You don’t know how to get started.

Don’t just go to a gym and stare at the endless rows of machines—arm yourself with some workouts, or pick up some weights for the sake of doing it….

Come to our classes and you notice the difference in the atmosphere and motivation being a group of people who are on the same path in achieving their goals and this will help boost your mind and body to feel more PUMPED UP!

11. You are too exhausted.

Exercising will actually give you more energy—not less. You will feel more pumped up afterward, and less fatigued during the day.

This works for me every single time and it will work for you too.

So get off the couch and get your ass moving!

12. You are already thin.

If you are already thin, that does not mean you do not have to worry about your health. Skinny people can still have a high body fat percentage, which can lead to dangerous fat that gathers around your abdomen as well as put you at a high risk for osteoporosis.

Also bone density is more frail when you are skinny and lack muscles, plus your ligaments and tendons are more vulnerable and this can lead to an injury without realising it.

Also cardio training will help keep your heart healthy by getting in proper workout and is still as beneficial for you as for someone trying to actually lose weight.

13. You can not do any hard exercises.

I never used to be able to do most tough exercises either— not even a push up. It is not easy at first, but if you put your mind to it and push through your mental blocks, you will get there.

If you are just starting out, come along to our classes as we are here for you.

14. You absolutely hate running.

So do I (well, except for sprints, which even I have to admit are pretty cool).

We now live in the modern century and running is not the answer to getting in shape or losing weight. (especially people who are over-weight as running will turn your knees to sand)

Our classes takes less time and is more efficient—and you will be way less bored doing a 45min workout than you would be if you were running for miles.

Plus your knees will thank you in the long run!

15. You don’t have anybody to work out with.

There is a reason so many people come to our classes or hire me: it is way easier to stay motivated when there are other people around you pushing you to work harder past your limitations.

This will help you motivate yourself to push past your limits,  and this will benefit you for your entire life.

You can not expect to rely on other people who keep letting you down! This is the worst you can do if you really want to achieve your goals.

16. The weather sucks.

Yeah, I know, it is pouring down with rain, it is below freezing temp, or boiling hot outside, or it is dark and miserable but, do not give up on your workout altogether.

Many people have given up their activities when the weather gets cold and wet and want to stay inside.

Have you notice that people start to feel unwell or come down with a flu? Well I have…that is because they have stopped exercising which lowers their immune system.

Depression starts to come out and makes you feel down and negative.

The worst of all, you start gaining weight back on after all that hard work when the weather was nice and now you have to start all over again while the others who keep it up will look fantastic and ready for next year!

17. You are too depressed.

If you are depressed, the last thing in the world you probably want to do is stop exercising (I know, I have been there). But as much as you may want to lay in bed all day under the covers, muster all the motivation you can and get up and exercise instead.

And trust me, it works: at the times in my life that I have been the most depressed, the one thing that helped me more than anything else was getting a that exercise.

Remember…. No one gives a shit about you…only you can do something about yourself if you feel your life is going down the spiral hole. (I know as I have been there!)

18. You have tried before without results.

Depending on your current level of fitness, it may take up to a month to see any results, and that can certainly be discouraging. Because of the time it takes, most people end up giving up too early, and get extra discouraged as a result.

Well I have NEWS for you….

I don’t care how many times you have tried before, if you stick with it, and you are consistent with your workouts all year round and not just during the nice weather, you will start get in shape.

It is not easy… but you just can not GIVE UP!

19. You are just not motivated.

We all need a little push at times. So here is my little advice…

GET OFF YOUR ARSE AND JUST DO IT!

Harsh words, I know, but sadly thats the truth!

Do you think I get days when I feel down and unmotivated?! YES!

Do I cry about it and give up? NO!

Why?

Cos I have worked SOOOOO hard to get where I am, I be damned if I decide to give up NOW and waste all that hard work!

20. Sex drive

Lastly, the taboo subject that people tend to forget or avoid and is a massive part of our daily lives is Sex…. yes that is right, the word SEX.

You be surprised how a good workout in our classes can help improve your daily sex lives.

Men: this helps boost their testosterone by 15%, reduce body fat which helps increase the blood flow to their body parts and longer stamina.

Ladies: this helps improve their hormones, neurotransmitters and nervous system activity and increase blood flow to their body parts too.

So get your arse down here and start making changes to your lifestyle of health and fitness and start seeing the RESULTS that changes your mood and help improve your future….
